For some reason, our society is very obsessed with pointing out negative aspects of aging. Ageing is a natural phenomenon that no mortal can avoid. However, whether you want to resist it in vain or choose aging gracefully like fine wine is a decision for you to make. Aging gracefully isn’t about trying to look like a 20-something — it’s about living your best life and having the physical and mental health to enjoy it. You can even get better with age by enjoying life, with the right care and plan.
“Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.”

- Meditate and lessen stress
- Do Gua sha and/or facial massage daily
- Do regular face yoga
- Take care of your gut health
- Supplement with high quality vitamins
You should also keep yourself moving and get some regular exercise done every day, something you love!
A Healthy Diet for Aging Gracefully
A healthy diet is another key to a long, healthy and happy life and one of the secrets to aging gracefully. Healthy foods are the way to go when it comes to aging gracefully. To feel heathy we need to eat the rainbow. Eat ample amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables; protein (beans) organic whole-grain or glutenfree, breads, rice, or pasta every day and lots of healthy fat and oils. Avoid using saturated fats for cooking and use oils instead. Stay away from processed foods, refined sugars, and unhealthy fats. You should also keep your salt intake to a minimum to keep your blood pressure down.
Moreover, it is also very important to stay happy and mentally fit. Because the mind tromps the body and an unhealhty mind will create a unhealthy body. We are not talking about forced positivity and “fake it til you make it” happiness. But healing your trauma, working through your shit kind of happiness. We all experience ups and downs in our lifes, but getting stuck in bitterness or regret is the fastest way to become a grumpy old (wo)man.
A big part of aging gracefully is being a forever student, always staying curious about life and all the things it has to offer.
Ultimately age is just a number and what really matters is how you want your life to be. The rest automatically falls in place.
